Our Mission
Chabad Downtown Brooklyn was established in 2023, to serve the Jewish community of Downtown Brooklyn. Chabad Downtown Brooklyn is a place where everyone is welcome, regardless of affiliation or prior level of knowledge. Its sole purpose is to create a warm, welcoming environment to explore and experience Judaism's warm and relevant spiritual inspirations in a non-judgmental and inviting atmosphere.
Since its inception, Chabad Downtown Brooklyn strives to meet the needs of the community with religious services, and social events, as well as an array of programming including: Friday night and holiday dinners, Moms n Tots holiday programs, Kosher cooking club, and a variety of adult Jewish education courses
Chabad Downtown Brooklyn is a local, independent and financially self-supporting entity. Every dollar that we receive comes from the generosity of people like you. We are a 501(c)(3) organization and your donations are fully tax deductible.
Meet the Korfs
Rabbi Zalman & Mushka Korf moved to Downtown Brooklyn and founded Chabad Downtown Brooklyn in 2023.
Prior to moving to Brooklyn, Rabbi Zalman grew up in Crown Heights before pursuing studies in Jewish thought and practice in Israel and the United States, and received his rabbinical ordination in Morristown, NJ. His infectious optimism and joyful personality drives his commitment and dedication to his community.
Mushka was born in Brooklyn and raised in Los Angeles and is a passionate educator, teaching classes for women, as well as educating her own 9 children. She also has exquisite taste which shines through all the events at Chabad she plans.
